9th & Marin

This plan was zoned for 140 ft tall and 66 units an acre.  KRE proposed a 190 ft tall, 300 units an acre project (400 rental units mostly studios).

The proposed redevelopment change was presented to the neighborhood in October 2013 via the HPNA.  At that time the plans presented and the plans you see below in the slideshow were for a 170 foot tall building.

After hearing about height complaints KRE created the elevation diagram you can find in the slideshow below.  This diagram is not representative of the neighborhood.  For one it shows the 1 or 2 taller buildings we have in the neighbhood as if they stretch throughout the neighborhood.  Number 2, it doesn't include all of Hamilton Park.  The elevation map stops at the beginning of Hamilton Park and leaves off 6 blocks west of it.

Our councilwoman had a survey of whether or not the community supported the proposed changes to the plan.  An overwhelming number of comments were made about height and density.  The survey results were never officially released to the public.

A 2nd survey appeared shortly afterwards with a monetary donation from the developer to the HPNA.  None of the height and density issues were addressed.

The city council was also asked to approve breaking this area off of the Luis Marin Redevelopment plan and giving it it's own plan called "Block 10102 Redevelopment Plan.

On June 25, 2014 the City Council voted to approve the change to the redevlopment plan.
